Upcoming Events:

General Council Meeting will be held Wednesday May 25th at 7:30 PM. The rosary will be prayed at 7:15.

The Pennsylvania Special Olympics State Games will be June 2 – 4th.   The Fr O’Hanlon council provides the bulk of the volunteers for the Aquatics competition.  We need volunteers. Most volunteers serve as stopwatch timers and athlete staging.  All Knights, family members over 12 years old, and friends are invited to help.  Children less than 16 years old should be accompanied by an adult.  The time periods are as follows:

 Friday AM, June 3 (7:45 AM to 12:45 PM) 

Friday PM, June 3 (12:45 Pm to 5:30 PM) 

Saturday AM, June 4 (7:45 AM to 12:00 Noon) 

Saturday PM, June 4 (12:45 PM to 3:30 PM)

The Council/Red Cross blood drive collected 42 units of blood in April. Great job!

The Knights of Columbus held their Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 26, at 10:00am at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The Council held an outreach dinner for people in our community on Sunday February 7.   Meals on Wheels, Mount Nittany Residence, and an outreach group at Calvary Baptist Church partnered with us to provide more than 80 free meals to people in the community. 

The membership committee attended the OLV church ministries fair this month. The council’s works of charity and unity and the benefits of membership were highlighted.  Visit the membership and what we do tab above for more information about the council and how to join the K of C.

The council received two awards at the May meeting. GK Ed Hughes received the 2014-15 Community Service award on behalf of the council. The council was also recognized with the Columbianism award from the State Council.

The Knights of Columbus will run its Annual Baby Bottle Campaign to benefit the Gabriel Project. Bottles will be distributed after the weekend Masses May 7th-8th (Mother’s Day) and 14th-15th. Collection dates will be moved up this year. May 28-29th and June 4th -5th. If you have interest in helping with the campaign contact Joe (jcr8@psu.edu). The Gabriel Project is a local pro-life movement offering parish-based pastoral care to women in a crisis pregnancy.
