The membership committee attended the OLV church ministries fair this month. The council’s works of charity and unity and the benefits of membership were highlighted.  Visit the membership and what we do tab above for more information about the council and how to join the K of C.

The council received two awards at the May meeting. GK Ed Hughes received the 2014-15 Community Service award on behalf of the council. The council was also recognized with the Columbianism award from the State Council.

The council held its second annual baby bottle campaign to benefit the Gabriel Project. The campaign ran from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Over 600 bottles were distributed. The Gabriel Project is a local pro-life movement offering parish-based pastoral care to women in a crisis pregnancy.  The proceeds will help over 18 mothers and infants.

The council worked concessions at the Penn State Blue White Game on April 18th.  Many Knights and family members participated. Approximately 1270.00 was raised and all funds will be donated to the Diocesan Seminarian Fund. 

The KofC-Red Cross Blood Drive was held on April 14th.   Thanks to all who help through donation, being there, and prayed for the clients that will receive the LIFE giving gift.

The Knights of Columbus Father O'Hanlon Council 4678 held their annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Sat April 4  Children were given treat bags by the Easter Bunny.

Council 4678 will be holding an outreach dinner for people in our community on Sunday February 7 at the Knights Hall from 1-3 pm.  This is not a fundraiser. Meals on Wheels, Mount Nittany Residence, and an outreach group at Calvary Baptist Church are helping with contacting people who qualify for the free meal.  If you would like to help or you know someone who would benefit from a good meal contact George McCormick at 238-8925.
